Healthy and Safe Communities Coalition Coordinator
The Jessamine County Health Department is accepting applications for a part-time 100 hour per month or full-time Healthy and Safe Communities Coalition Coordinator position.
General Duties Include: Responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to; working closely with the Healthy and Safe Communities Coalition Board and Executive Steering Committee; facilitate coalition workgroup meetings established by the Community Health Assessment that include health and safety priority areas related to mental health, substance use/drug overdose, safety, and chronic disease prevention; organize and participate as the JCHD representative for the Child Fatality Review team and provide programing for prevention of child death; develop meeting agendas and other related materials for workgroups; facilitate the strategic planning process to develop goals/objectives/activities for the Healthy and Safe Communities Coalition initiatives; assist in the development of a 5-year Community Health Improvement Plan; promote the coalition through a variety of media outlets; recruit potential Board members and develop/train new Board members through a formal orientation process; research, organize, and facilitate appropriate coalition development trainings and evidence based programs; facilitate the process to identify and recruit a Community Champion(s) and community stakeholders for workgroup subcommittees; facilitate partnerships to advance coalition work; assist with grant writing and grant application process.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Requirements:
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in the field of public health, health and human services, public safety or other related field that may be applicable.
EXPERIENCE: Must have two (2) years of health, human services or public safety experience.
SUBSTITUTION FOR EDUCATION: Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in health or human services fields will substitute for one (1) year experience required. A professional license in the health or human services fields will substitute for an additional year of experience.
Starting Salary: $12.95 per hour – May be adjusted at agency’s discretion based upon additional education, experience, licensure, certifications, etc. Agency Benefits provided.
