CURRENT OPENINGS:

The Jessamine County Health Department is accepting applications for a Full-Time Nurse Supervisor II.   The Jessamine County Health Department is a nationally accredited, high functioning organization that ensures a culture of continuous quality improvement. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and abilities needed to achieve the performance standards of the organization in order to deliver core public health services in an efficient and effective manner.

General Duties include:  This position serves under the direction of the Health Department Director.  Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to; Perform multiple supervisory tasks with a high degree of competency.  Make observations of the delivery and quality of client care and leads quality improvement activities.  Monitor demand for services to ensure efficient allocation of personnel, equipment and supplies by review or schedules and medical records for assigned clinics.  Coordinate client flow as needed.  May provide for day to day clinic management, oversee development of nursing care plans, daily assignments and follow up activities.  Provide appropriate feedback to assigned staff including providing immediate, intermediate and formal summary performance evaluations.  May conduct or participate in monthly staff meetings.  Model effective clinical decision making skills.  Delegate authority, as appropriate, to subordinate supervisors and provide appropriate mentorship.  Facilitate meetings and may provide for orientation and training of new nursing staff.  Work with educational institutions in planning for appropriate clinical experience for students.

Minimum Education, Training or Experience:  See special requirements and three (3) years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience of which one (1) year includes supervisory experience.

Substitution for Education, Training or Experience:  BSN may substitute for one (1) year required experience.  Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration, Nursing Education or Public Health may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

Special Requirements: (Age, Licensure, Regulation, Etc.)  Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state.

Starting Salary:  $20.79 – $26.61/hr negotiable with additional experience.  Grade 23 (Transfers in accordance with 902 KAR 8:090 will be considered).
