Opioid overdose continues to be a major public health problem in the United States. It has contributed significantly to accidental deaths among those who use or misuse illicit and prescription drugs. In fact, U.S. overdose deaths reached 64,000 – or about 175 per day – in 2016.
Physicians and other health care providers can make a major contribution toward reducing the toll of opioid analgesics.
Training appropriate for Physicians, Dentists, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, and other professionals with the opportunity to influence prescribing practices (meets HB 1 requirement for 1.5 CME hours with approval from the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure ID# 1117-H1.5-DBH1)
