Diabetes Education Classes

The Health Department currently offers the National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) which is a CDC recognized research-based program focused on healthy eating and physical activity which shows that people with prediabetes who take part in a structured lifestyle change program can cut their risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Next class is scheduled for Thursday, October 24. If you are 18 years or older and have not been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, you may be eligible for the program. Call the Health Department to see if you qualify.

Could you have prediabetes? Take the test.

Note: For individuals living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, the Health Department refers these individuals to the CHI St. Joseph Jessamine Diabetes Self Management Training (DSMT) program.
