Septic Systems

Per KRS 211.350 “No person, firm, or corporation shall construct, install, alter, or cause to be constructed, installed, or altered, any on-site sewage disposal system subject to regulation by the cabinet without having first obtained an on-site sewage disposal permit from the local health department.”

The first step to obtaining an on-site sewage disposal (also called “septic system”) permit is the site evaluation.  A certified inspector will perform the site evaluation to determine if site and soil conditions are suitable for onsite wastewater systems.

  1. Complete the Site Evaluation Application
  2. Review the Guidelines for Permits
  3. Know what to do After your Site Evaluation is Complete
